Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy applies to our main site at valueoukids.com and our community subdomain at community.valueourkids.com (the “Community”). References to the “Platform” include both properties. • User-Generated Content: Recipes, recommendations, comments, photos, videos you submit voluntarily, forum posts, comments, reactions, uploads (images/videos), and related metadata.
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device data, referring pages, and other usage data through cookies and similar technologies.
• Communication Data: Emails or messages sent to us directly or via forms.
• Account & Profile: name, display name, email, profile type (e.g., “Mom,” “Dad”), avatar, and profile fields you submit.
• Verification & Security: phone number for OTP/2FA, verification status/identifiers from our SSO/OTP provider.
• Private Messages: message content and metadata (participants, timestamps).
• Device/Usage: IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, referrers, timestamps, diagnostics.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the platform
• To manage user accounts and submissions
• To respond to inquiries and provide support
• To send updates, with your consent
• To provide the Community, including login via SSO/JWT and OTP verification; prevent fraud/abuse.
• To host and display user-generated content; moderate to protect members and comply with law.
• Segment access by profile type (e.g., “Mom,” “Dad”).
• Send service communications, updates, and (with consent where required) newsletters/marketing you opt in to.
• To analyze site performance and improve user experience
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Legal Basis for Processing

• Consent: For email subscriptions, cookies, and certain submissions
• Contract: When processing submissions or account-related requests
• Legitimate Interest: For internal analytics, content moderation, and platform safety
• Legal Obligation: To comply with legal and regulatory requirements

4. Data Sharing

• We do not sell or rent your data.
• We may share it with service providers (e.g., for hosting or email services), subject to confidentiality agreements.
• Public recipe contributions may include your name or profile, if you choose.
• Your content is visible according to the area’s visibility settings (e.g., public page vs members-only forum).

5. International Transfers

Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the United States. When we do so, we ensure adequate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or compliance with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

We retain your information only as long as necessary for its intended purpose or to comply with legal obligations. Recipe submissions may be retained unless you request removal.

• Account/profile data: until deletion or after a defined inactivity period 24 months.
• Moderation logs: 24 months after account closure.
• OTP/security logs: 12 months.
• Backups: retained for a reasonable cycle.

9. Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, please contact us to have it removed.

10. Your Rights & Choices

You can access, update, or delete your profile information via account settings or by contacting us. California residents may exercise CPRA rights (to know, delete, correct, and receive information about our practices) as described in this Policy.

No sale or sharing. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA). Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, we do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. We will notify users of significant changes via this page and update the “Last Updated” date above.
